Appointment Confirmation

Clutter Medics will contact you before your scheduled organization session to confirm our appointment.

Cancellation or Missed Appointments

Cancellations of less than 24 hours' notice or a no-show, except in cases of an emergency, will result in a charge of 2 hours of labor. Repeated last minute cancellations may result in a cancellation of services. If you communicate your concerns about being able to keep an appointment we are more than willing to work with your schedule and can remain flexible as long as we are aware of scheduling needs ahead of time.

Confidentiality

The client recognizes that entering into this contract with Clutter Medics means that we may be in contact with personal items and information.  Clutter Medics agrees not to divulge any of this information and to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and respect for the Client’s possessions and home. Clutter Medics follows the written Code of Ethics, provided by the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO).

Contract Requirement

A signed contract is required prior to the start of any organizing project. In some circumstances, Clutter Medics may request a deposit or a retainer before providing services. All questions and concerns should be addressed before any work commences.

Disruption of Services

Clutter Medics reserves the right to terminate the contract if any of the following conditions occur: the Client repeatedly cancels/changes appointments or engages in disruptive, threatening, or violent behavior. Disruptive is defined as hindering Clutter Medics from carrying out their professional duties, and may include yelling, verbal abuse, and refusing reasonable requests. Threatening is defined as physical actions short of contact, general oral or written threats to people or property, and implicit threats. Violent is defined as physical assault directed at people or property.

Clutter Medics reserves the right to decide whether or not to issue refunds in the event of disruption of services.

Fees & Payments

Clutter Medics will decide independently and communicate to the Client in advance the fees and expenses, and will charge that which we deem reasonable, legitimate, and commensurate with our experience, the services we deliver, and the responsibility we accept. “One Hour” of work is defined as one man hour. When multiple organizers are present, each hour worked by each organizer will count toward the total hours worked.

Clutter Medics reserves the right to charge different rates for working in conditions we deem dangerous or hazardous based on the assessment.

Payment may be made by cash, check, PayPal, or Zelle (bank to bank transfer). There will be a charge of $45 for any check returned for insufficient funds or any bank draft item that is not payable for any reason, as well as additional collection and/or legal fees or any related bank charges. Full payment is due upon receipt of invoice.

Personal Liability of the Client

In the event of bodily injury to any representative of Clutter Medics due to hazardous conditions of the worksite the contract holder is liable for any and all medical bills and emergencies as included in their personal and/or business insurance.

Photo Release

If appropriate, the Client releases all rights to before and after photos, to be used in Clutter Medics’ publications, including but not limited to the website and pamphlets.  All identifying information, such as location or personal records, will be removed before publishing. The client may request that all photos only be used for documentation of the services provided and not be distributed or published.

Process Ownership

Regarding the purging, sorting, and organizing of items, the Client maintains process ownership.  Clutter Medics recognizes items as the sole property of the Client, and though efforts will be made to help purge when needed, it is hereby stated that the final decision on such matters belongs to the Client.

Supplies & Shopping Assistance

Clutter Medics will make suggestions about what products, materials or supplies are needed to for the project.  The Client may make the purchases themselves or, per the Client’s explicit request, Clutter Medics will shop and purchase the materials and supplies.

Client is responsible to pay for all agreed-upon supplies such as file folders, labels, labeling tape, storage containers, lumber, hardware, cleaning supplies, trash bags, shelving, etc., necessary for the completion of the project and the fee for shopping and returns. The standard hourly rate will apply for all shopping and returns. Receipts for materials will be included with invoice. If materials or equipment needed is more than $100 then an advance payment may be necessary.

Mileage

If worksite is located more than 30 miles from Waco, TX, in McLennan County, there will be a mileage fee at, or near, the standard IRS rate in effect at the time of service approximately $0.50 per mile.

Travel performed in the course of the project, i.e. shopping, dropping off donations, dump trips, moving items, transportation of client, etc. will be charged at the mileage rate in effect at the time.  This is in addition to the hourly labor charges.

Tips & Tricks

Organizing Tax related records. Get a large manilla envelope to put all your tax related records. Put in all W-2, 1099 and other year end statements as soon as they come in. If you get them electronically print them immediately and add them to the envelope. As you put them in the envelope write what it is on the outside. When it comes time to do your taxes you'll be able to see if you are missing anything and they'll all be together.
