We will begin by meeting and discussing your needs. Then we'll develop an estimate, prepare a proposal and go over details. If you decide to go ahead we'll determine a timeline and workable schedule that feels good to you.

The process - getting ready to move
First, we can help you sort and organize your belongings into the basics of Keep, Donate, Sell, Discard. When looking at your new space you will most likely need to downsize. This is the goal - to simplify your life. Let us help you get through the tough job of making the decisions and physically getting through it all.
We will remove all unwanted belongings and then take a basic inventory of the items to be kept and either moved into new home or stored. If you want us to continue we can start packing your favorite treasures for safe transport. This might also be a good time to put your critical documents and records into a portable file that won't get packed.

During the purging process things can get confusing or overwhelming. We try to keep the chaos to a minimum and always make sure your every day life can be as normal as possible.

As you get closer to moving day we can help with defining critical timelines, space plans and milestones.

Arranging the move, moving and unpacking
If you wish, we can help plan for your move by coordinating with packers and movers. Also, there may be things that need to be done at the new home - repairs, cleaning, painting - let us help you prepare your new home for move-in.
Next is the task of unpacking, organizing and setting up your new home. We'll get rid of all the boxes and packing material, put things on shelves and in drawers, hang shower curtains - whatever you need.

Lastly, perhaps your previous home is going on the market and needs some clean-up or repairs or even holding an Estate Sale is in the cards. Let Clutter Medics help with this as well. We can arrange for cleaning as needed. We'll even mow the lawn for the Open House. Just let us know what you need.

Special note to family members and helpers
Often, seniors may be hesitant about relocating and dealing with their lifetime accumulations just makes it that much harder. They are often distressed knowing that others might not place the same value on their belongings as they do. It can be a very sentimental time and can create an emotionally charged situation. Having a neutral party involved will help. We are kind and patient and always have the senior's best interests in mind. Our goal is to help you help them by simplifying their day to day life. You can be involved to whatever degree works best for you and for them. We work as a team.
Tips & Tricks
Thinking of moving in a few years? There is no better time than the present to start clearing out. Set out rough deadlines for certain goals. Try to get rid of stuff gradually and carefully. It is a good time to pass along valuables to the younger generation. Sell large items that you no longer need, set the money aside to cover the cost of moving. Just a few ideas.
